Yesterday’s skating in Toronto.

Yesterday we started off the day at the Vanderhoof skatepark. There we met up with a bunch of local dudes from Toronto, like Dave Ghent, Guy Crawford, Kevin Chow, Collin White, Steve Kiley and more. Kevin Chow killed the bowl with effortless lines that seem to go on forever, while Guy Crawford did some huge flat spin 3s over the hip into the deep part of the bowl. I got a sick clip of it, but him and I weren’t fully satisfied so he tried it again but this time his toe clipped the copping and he fell hard on his shoulder. So Guy and Kevin left shortly after that, the rest of us continued to skate and get a few clips. A little while later, some bladers from Montreal showed up at the park. Alex, Immony, Alex Theroux, Dan Miller all got a ride with Jerry Butler in his car. So we skated at the park for a bite with them then left to skate some streets.

First we went to the bank to rail, a popular Toronto spot from back in back then day. Everyone threw down a couple nice tricks on it. Second spot was the Brown School ledges. Dan was stoked to skate it, so he went straight to work on it. After a few warm ups, he dropped a nice stylish backside backslide.

Steve Kiley offered Dan some beer money if he did a makio with a grab and a 180 out. So without hesitation and with beer on his mind, he did it and then collected his reward.

The skating ended at the ledges with an ill stunt from Leon. Sorry no pictures, but I filmed it from a couple angles and got some really nice clips. If you were there you know what he did and how crazy it was. For those of you who weren’t there, you’ll just have to wait for the video.

Everyone should know who this is. Dave Ghent, web dude extraordinaire and creator of the Brampton Comp. Brampton Comp 3 is going down today, starting at noon. Rollerbladers from all across Ontario and Quebec will be there, so come out and join the fun. Check out http://www.bramptoncomp.com for more info on the comp and to see Dave’s web skills in action.

Ramp yes. Fence no!

Traffic in Toronto sucks. People like to drive very fast in their civics and acuras, especially if they are from Italian decent. Just like Mike Vigneux, an italian that rolls fast. Just for the record Leon came up with this great description.

We miss Quebec already!

It’s only been a couple days since we left Quebec, but we miss it already. We had a such a great time with Matt, Allison, Stephane, and Marie on the road in Ontario and on their farm in Quebec. Thanks for all the good times and memories, we hope to see you out in Vancouver very soon. Life is short stunt it!

Here’s a picture from the other day that we forgot to put up. This was the first trick of the day in Sherbrooke. Matt had this trick planned out and no one could stand in his was, literally. Not even this big muscular guy in the middle of the road.

Clips from Le Taz.

Here’s a few clips from the Lylac/Fast-Motion session at Le Taz skatepark that took place on the weekend. We’re saving the rest of the clips for the Task Around 2009 video.

More photos from yesterday.

Yesturday was a really busy day for us. We got up ealry, skated the Fast Motion barn, drove to Quebec City, got a few clips and then drove back to Montreal for the 9-12 session at Le Taz skatepark. After the Session we sleep-drove to Ottawa and arrived there around 4 in the morning alive and in one piece. Today we woke up at Roger and Katie’s place, and Katie prepared an amazing breakfast for us before we hit the streets of Ottawa with some of the local skaters.

Thanks Roger and Katie for giving us a comfortable place to sleep and taking care of us. We love you long time.

Now we’re on the 401 driving to Toronto, where we’ll be all week until the Brampton Comp next Sunday.

Here’s a few photos from our two hour visit in Quebec City.

We drove right into downtown Quebec and spotted this amazing rail out the castle wall. So we told Alex to get to work.

This tall guy in the picture was on his way to a club for tall people.

AJ trying to get clips in Quebec City. As you can see he doesn’t look too impressed cause there was way too many people getting in the way. So we walked away empty handed… except AJ, he has about ten grand on his shoulder.

Photos from Le Taz.

Fast Motion and Lylac put together a rollerbladers only session at the new Taz skatepark. Here’s a few photos from the session.

Kaya Turski has always been one of Canada’s biggest talents. Even though she’s been really busy being a pro skier, touring, and competing, she still finds time to put on her blades and lace any trick she wants.

It’s so much fun taking pictures of Stephane cause he can do big jumps.

Fred is another guy who is fun to take pictures of cause he can jump real big and he’s also a super cool dude who is planning on riding his bicycle to Vancouver…my descriptions are just getting morst.

Kaya was doing full speed topacid to switch true topacid on the coping. But since it’s not a video I decided to just take a picture of the topacid cause it looks so good.

Stephane with a huge double kick foot stretch wheel spin 180 corked to drop…damn that’s a cool trick name. I came up it with if myself.

At the moment it’s 2:30am and we are driving to Ottawa, and my descriptions might not be the greatest. But they will be funny to read in the morning.

Skating in Montreal.

Matt did the sickest line ever and AJ did the best filming ever. Making it the best clip ever.

AJ can still take pictures. Here’s Alex with a nice fishbrain in downtown Montreal.

After a long session at the ledges we kidnapped Alex and took him back to Matt’s house. Tomorrow (today, saturday) Alex will be joining us as we travel to Quebec City.

Skating street in Sherbrooke.

Skating street was a great adventure. We took our time and looked for unique spots and nice lines. Here’s Matt starting off one of his lines with a sweatstance.

Matt had this spot planned out before we got there. Little bank to a chest high rail with a tree in the way and a big drop with stairs on the other side. Matt did exactly what he wanted to after warming up first with this royale.

Sometimes we fall down. Stephane got the worst of it today when he fell on some papersand concrete and took a chunk out of his hand.

After a long day without food or water in the sun, we went back the Brandy Creek in Val Court and had some beers and nachos while we talked about rollerblading.

Trenton skatepark.

What a way to finish a long day, eh? J DeLong with a massive air over the hip.

Trenton skatepark was a blast, all the local kids were highly impressed with our skating skills. Thanks to their positive energy, the session really took off and we got lots of amazing clips. After we finished our demo and everyone left, we kept on skating cause rollerblading is way too fun.
